Hello Elite Traders!

This week in our Elite Market Alert, we are providing education about financial events,

specifically Jackson Hole. Along with insight into how these events affect the market, we will

cover some of the HUGE earnings reports this week including Nvidia! With the Tech and Retail

industry gaining momentum over the past few weeks, there are quite a few highly anticipated

reports coming out so make sure to mark your calendars and keep an eye out!

Let’s review the Jackson Hole meeting that took place last Friday. Simply put, It’s a

speech from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell that is held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where

current economic events and topics are addressed. His speech this past Friday addressed

inflation and cutting rates soon. For a more in-depth look at what this meeting means for the

economy and how it reflects in the market, continue reading.

What is the Jackson Hole Speech?

The Jackson Hole Economic Symposium is an annual event hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank

of Kansas City in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This gathering brings together central bankers,

policymakers, economists, and academics from around the world to discuss economic issues,

trends, and policies. One of the highlights of this symposium is the keynote speech delivered

by the Chair of the Federal Reserve, currently Jerome Powell.

Why is the Jackson Hole Speech Important?

The Jackson Hole speech is significant because it often provides insights into the Federal

Reserve’s views on the economy and future monetary policy. Given the Fed’s role in setting

interest rates and guiding economic policy, any hints or signals about future actions can have a

profound impact on financial markets. Traders, investors, and analysts closely watch this speech

for clues about the direction of interest rates, inflation, and economic growth.

How Does It Relate to Futures Trading?

Futures trading involves contracts to buy or sell assets at a predetermined price at a specified

time in the future. These contracts are highly sensitive to changes in interest rates and

economic outlooks.

The Jackson Hole speech can influence futures markets in several ways:

  • Interest Rate Expectations: If the Fed Chair hints at future interest rate hikes or cuts, it can lead to immediate adjustments in futures prices. For example, expectations of higher interest rates might lead to a decline in stock index futures but an increase in bond futures.

  • Economic Outlook: Insights into the Fed’s view on economic growth and inflation can affect commodity futures. For instance, a positive economic outlook might boost oil and metal futures due to anticipated higher demand.

  • Market Sentiment: The tone and content of the speech can influence overall market sentiment. A confident and optimistic speech might lead to bullish market behavior, while a cautious or pessimistic tone could trigger bearish reactions

How can you benefit the most during these events and reports?

An easy answer to this would be to utilize Elite Trader Funding’s evaluations and add-ons.

Depending on the situation and your preferred trading strategy, each of our evaluations has

great mechanics that will suit your needs.

For example, the Diamond Hands account allows you to hold positions overnight and through

the weekend, which is ideal for swinging positions into after-hours or premarket during

earnings reports.

On the other hand, with the One Day to Pass (ODTP) add-on, you can pass an evaluation in one

day as long as you reach the profit target without triggering the max drawdown. This add-on

is ideal to use when there are volatile news events, such as Jackson Hole. Because of the

volatility, you can earn or lose large amounts very quickly, and if you are confident in your

skills, the ODTP is the perfect opportunity to get funded as soon as possible!
