This is a big week for earnings with Target and Palo Alto coming up as well as recent news
about the market.
Following a shaky past couple of weeks, we had some great news last week as it’s reported
that shoppers are driving the economy up. Retail sales have risen by 1%, led by grocery,
electronics, and appliance stores with Ulta Beauty being the most notable. Related sectors saw
a powerful recovery that is strengthening consumers’ hope for the future of our economy.
Ulta Beauty (ULTA) – Up 11.2% after Berkshire Hathaway reveals their ownership stake.
Walmart (WMT) – Up 6.6% for higher-than-expected profit report.
S&P 500 (ES) – Up 88 points, or 1.6%, for its fourth-best day of the year and its sixth straight
gain. Back within 2.2% of its all-time high, set in July 2024.
Dow Jones (YM) – Up 554 points
Nasdaq (NQ) – Up 401 points
Great news for Japan as they’re seeing a slight recovery with their overall economy up .8%. This
is fantastic as it’s bringing hope following the harsh past couple of weeks. Overall, it’s been a
